SQE Music will release a soundtrack album for Paul Schrader’s upcoming indie drama The Canyons. The album features the film’s original music composed by Broken Social scene member Brendan Canning w/ Me&John. Also included are the songs Love, French, Better by Gold Zebra, Fear by A Place to Bury Strangers and Coming Down by Dum Dum Girls. Lakeshore Records has announced the details for the indie drama The Spectacular Now. The album features the film’s original score composed by Rob Simonsen (The Way, Way Back, 500 Days of Summer), as well as the songs Baby by Ariel Pink, Song For Zula by Phosphorescent and Wakin’ On A Pretty Day by Kurt Vile. The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 30, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. The Spectacular Now is directed by James Ponsoldt and stars Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Brie Larson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kyle Chandler. The film written by Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber follows a high school senior and the mercurial introvert he attempts to “save” from life as a social outcast. Nick Glennie-Smith is set to reunite with director Randall Wallace on his upcoming family drama Heaven Is for Real. The movie is based on the bestselling novel Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy’s Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent and follows a boy who recounts tales from his visit to heaven after recovering from an emergency operation where he temporarily died. Greg Kinnear and Kelly Reilly star as the parents of the boy who is portrayed by newcomer Connor Corum. Margo Martindale and Thomas Haden Church are co-starring. Chris Parker (Vampire in Brooklyn, Battle of the Year) has adapted the material for the screen. Joe Roth (Alice in Wonderland) is producing the TriStar Pictures production, along with T.D. Jakes (Woman Thou Art Loosed, Sparkle) and Derrick Williams (Jumping the Broom). La-La Land Records has announced the details of the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1997 action thriller Turbulence directed by Robert Butler and starring Lauren Holly and Ray Liotta. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Shirley Walker (Final Destination, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Willard, Batman: The Animated Series). Music Box Records has announced a soundtrack album featuring two previously unreleased scores written by Academy Award-nominated composer Alan Silvestri (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future, The Avengers). The album features the world premiere release of the score for the 1994 comedy Clean Slate directed by Mick Jackson (The Bodyguard) and starring Dana Carvey, Valeria Golino, Michael Gambon, James Earl Jones, Bryan Cranston, and Kevin Pollak. Also included is the first-ever official release of the score for the 1995 comedy The Perez Family directed by Mira Nair and starring Marisa Tomei, Alfred Molina and Anjelica Huston. Rhino Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa. The album features the music from the film, including a track from Philip Glass’ Koyaanisqatsi, The Police’s Roxanne, Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger, Bryan Ferry’s Let’s Stick Together, Sparks’ The Number One Song in Heaven and Hot Chocolate’s It Started With a Kiss. Also featured is one track from the film’s original score composed by Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, The Young Victoria). The soundtrack will be released in the UK on August 5, 2013 and is now available for pre-order as an import on Amazon. No word yet on a domestic release. Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is directed by Declan Lowne and and stars Steve Coogan, Colm Meaney, Sean Pertwee, Anna Maxwell Martin, Nigel Lindsay, Felicity Montagu, Simon Greenall and Phil Cornwell. Columbia Records will release a score album for the indie comedy drama The Way, Way Back. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (500 Days of Summer, Dollhouse, The Spectacular Now). The soundtrack will be released on July 19, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from the score after the jump. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the songs from the film, as well as a track from Simonsen’s score. The Way, Way Back is directed by Jim Rash and Nat Faxon and stars Liam James, Toni Collette, Steve Carell, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Amanda Peet and Rob Corddry. The movie about a teen boy who struggles to find himself as he comes to terms with his mother and cheating stepfather during summer vacation was picked up by Fox Searchlight following its Sundance debut earlier this year and is now playing in theaters.

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the horror thriller Evidence. The album features the film’s original score composed by Atli Orvarsson (Vantage Point, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters). The soundtrack will be released digitally on July 23, 2013. Check back on this page for audio clips to be added to this article within the next week. Evidence is directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi who previously collaborated with Orvarsson on The Fourth Kind. The movie starring Stephen Moyer, Radha Mitchell, Torrey DeVitto and Caitlin Stasey follows a team of detectives who attempt to piece together what happened at the scene of a brutal massacre using a number of recording devices found at the crime scene. Bear McCreary has been tapped to score Marvel’s highly anticipated TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. The show from executive producers Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen (Dollhouse, Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog) marks Marvel’s first television series. Jeffrey Bell (Angel, Alias) and Jeph Loeb (Smallville, Lost) also serve as executive producers of the ABC Studios and Marvel Television production. The show stars Clark Gregg who reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films and follows him as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Brett Dalton, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and Chloe Bennett are co-starring. Whedon also directed the pilot episode. The album features the film’s original score composed by Dustin O’Halloran who previously collaborated with the director on the 2011 indie Like Crazy. Like Crazy is written and directed by Drake Doremus and stars Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones, Amy Ryan and Mackenzie Davis. The movie about a high school teacher who is tempted to cheat on his wife with one of his students premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in the UK on July 19.
