anchorman-2Republic Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The album features the songs featured in the film performed by the movie’s characters such as Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind, including a cover version of Christopher Cross’s Ride Like The Wind by Burgundy and Robin Thicke, as well as original songs composed by the film’s composers Andrew Feltenstein and John Nau. Also featured are a number of classic songs by artists including Neil Diamond, Hot Chocolate and Kenny Loggins. The soundtrack will be released on December 17, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features the film’s original score composed by Nico Muhly (The Reader, Margaret, Joshua). Also included are three tracks featured in the film by vocalist Catherine Russell accompanied by Grammy winner Vince Giordano and The Nighthawks. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 10, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Kill Your Darlings is directed by John Krokidas and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Dane DeHaan, Michael C. Hall, Jack Huston, Ben Foster, Jennifer Jason Leigh, David Cross and Elizabeth Olsen. The film tells the story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs at Columbia University in 1944. island-of-lemursMark Mothersbaugh has been tapped to score the upcoming IMAX 3D documentary Island of Lemurs: Madagascar. The film is directed by David Douglas and features trailblazing scientist Patricia Wright, an expert on lemurs and the wildlife of Madagascar where the creatures arrived as castaways millions of years ago and evolved into hundreds of diverse and now endangered species. Morgan Freeman is narrating the movie. Drew Fellman has written the screenplay and is also producing the project. Mothersbaugh has previously scored the IMAX documentary Born to be Wild 3D in 2011, which was produced by Fellman, narrated by Freeman and on which Douglas served as the director of cinematography. The album features the film’s original music composed, arranged and produced by Rahman Altin who was honored with the Public Choice Award at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards ceremony in Ghent for his work on the movie. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and is also available physically. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. The Butterfly’s Dream directed by Yilmaz Ertoğan is set in the 1940s during World War II in the Black Sea city of Zonguldak and tells the story of two poets who both fall sick with tuberculosis and fall in love with the same woman. The movie was released in Turkey this past February and was selected to represent the country as its entry for Best Foreign Language Film for 2014’s Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. The film is written and directed by Greg Francis and stars Ron Perlman, Giancarlo Esposito, Titus Welliver, Ron Eldard and Beau Mirchoff. The movie follows a young cop who learns from a Greek chorus of wiser, older detectives gathered for their ritual night of poker when a killer pulls the young cop and his mentors into a web of mutual deceit. Corey Large (Loaded) and Alan Pao are producing the project for Wingman Productions. Glasgow has previously collaborated with the producers on the features Chasing Ghosts and Toxic. breakfast-at-tiffanysIntrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete soundtrack for the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s directed by Blake Edwards and starring Katherine Hepburn, George Peppard, Patricia Neal and Mickey Rooney. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Henry Mancini (The Pink Panther). The score was previously only available as a re-arranged version on an LP version from RCA. The album also features the Academy Award-winning song Moon River performed by Hepburn, as well as a number of bonus tracks, including alternate versions of the song. john-debneyJohn Debney is reteaming with director Ivan Reitman on the upcoming sports drama Draft Day. The film’s cast includes Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, Denis Leary, Chadwick Boseman, Frank Langella, Sean Combs, Terry Crews, Sam Elliott and Tom Welling. The movie centers on the manager of the Cleveland Browns who struggles to acquire the top draft pick for his team on the day of the draft. Scott Rothman and Rajiv Joseph have written the screenplay. Reitman is also producing the project with Ali Bell and Tom Pollock (Hitchcock) through his Montecito Motion Picture Company.
