Will and Brooke Blair are scoring the upcoming indie drama The Scent of Rain & Lightning. The film is directed by Blake Robbins and stars Maika Monroe, Maggie Grace, Brad Carter, Logan Miller, Justin Chatwin, Mark Webber, Will Patton, Bonnie Bedelia and Aaron Poole. The movie is based on a novel by Nancy Pickard and follows a young woman who is forced to confront old wounds and the destructive power of hate when she learns that the man who killed her parents has been released from prison. Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the mini-series And Then There Were None. The album features the series’ original music composed by Stuart Earl (Lilting, My Brother the Devil), which was recently nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in the Best Television Soundtrack category. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 13, 2016. And Then There Were None is developed by Sarah Phelps based on Agatha Christie’s novel and stars Douglas Booth, Charles Dance, Anna Maxwell Martin, Sam Neill, Miranda Richardson, Toby Stephens, Maeve Dermody, Burn Gorman, Noah Taylor and Aidan Turner. John Debney to Perform at CSUN Valley Performing Arts Center

Academy Award nominee John Debney wil join California State University, Northridge students and alumni in a special performance at the University featuring the world premiere of the Jungle Book Suite, as well as other selections from his work, including The Passion of the Christ and Iron Man 2. The concert will take place on Thursday, May 12 at 7:30pm at CSUN Valley Performing Arts Center in Northridge, CA. The event will be preceded by an audience Q&A at 6:30pm. James Newton Howard’s ‘Collateral’ Score to Be Released

Intrada Records has announced the first release of the complete score for the 2004 thriller Collateral directed by Michael Mann and starring Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith and Mark Ruffalo. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, The Hunger Games, The Fugitive, King Kong), including tracks not used in the final version of the movies, as well as alternate cues. The previous soundtrack album released by RCA Records only featured four short scores tracks in addition to the songs from the film. Daniel Hart has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming family adventure Pete’s Dragon and is currently recording his score at AIR Studios in London. The film is directed by David Lowery and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence and Robert Redford. The movie is based on the 1977 classic of the same title and tells the story of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon.. Lowery also co-wrote the screenplay with Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker (The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Finest Hours) is producing the project.
