Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silence of the Lambs, The Aviator, Hugo) has recently scored the upcoming French family fantasy adventure The Lost Prince (Le prince oublié). The film is directed by Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist, OSS 117) and stars Omar Sy, François Damiens and Bérénice Bejo. The movie follows a devoted single father who takes his daughter into “Storyland”, a fantasy film studio where their extraordinary fairytale adventures come to life. Hazanavicius also co-wrote the screenplay with Bruno Merle and Noé Debré (Dheepan, Racer and the Jailbird).

Emile Mosseri has recently recorded his score for the upcoming indie drama Minari. The film is written and directed by Lee Isaac Chung and stars Steven Yeun, Han Yeri, Youn Yuh Jung, Will Patton, Alan Kim and Noel Kate Cho. The movie follows a 7-year-old Korean-American boy who gets his life turned upside down when his father decides to move their family to rural Arkansas and start a farm in the mid-1980s.
Christopher Willis to Score Alexander Kronemer’s ‘Lamya’s Poem’
Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, Mickey Mouse, The Lion Guard) has signed on to score the upcoming animated feature Lamya’s Poem. The film is written and directed by Alexander Kronemer (Bilal: A New Breed of Hero) and features the voice talent of Mena Massoud, Millie Davis and Faran Tahir. The movie tells the story of a thirteen-year-old Syrian refugee who tumbles into a dream world where she meets a troubled young poet, and must help him write the poem that will save her life.
David Hirschfelder Scoring Francis Annan’s ‘Escape from Pretoria’
David Hirschfelder (Shine, Elizabeth, Australia, The Railway Man, Legends of the Guardians) has composed the original music for the upcoming thriller Escape from Pretoria. The film is directed by Francis Annan and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Daniel Webber, Ian Hart, Mark Leonard Winter and Nathan Page. The movie tells the true story of freedom fighters Tim Jenkin and Stephen Lee, who were jailed in 1978 for being involved in covert anti-apartheid operations, as they attempt to break out from a maximum security South African jail.
Joseph Bishara to Return for ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It’
Warner Bros. Pictures/New Line Cinema have confirmed that Joseph Bishara will return as the composer for the horror sequel The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. The film is directed by Michael Chaves and stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. They are joined by Ruairi O’Connor, Sarah Catherine Hook and Julian Hilliard. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (Orphan) wrote the screenplay based on a story by himself and James Wan (Aquaman, Furious 7, Insidious) who is producing the project with Peter Safran (Shazam!, The Nun).

Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Revenge, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium) is composing the original score for the upcoming fantasy horror movie Gretel & Hansel. The film is directed by Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter) and stars Sophia Lillis, Sammy Leakey, Charles Babalola, Alice Krige and Jessica De Gouw. The movie is based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale and follows a young girl who leads her little brother into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.
Thomas Newman to Score John Lee Hancock’s ‘The Little Things’ & Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Let Them All Talk’
Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Finding Nemo, The Shawshank Redemption, Skyfall) has revealed in a recent interview with Deadline that he will be reteaming with John Lee Hancock on the upcoming crime thriller The Little Things. The film starring Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, Jared Leto, Natalie Morales, Sofia Vassilieva and John Harlan Kim follows a Kern County, CA deputy sheriff namedwho teams with a crack LASD detective to reel in a wily serial killer. Lee Hancok (The Blind Side, The Rookie) also wrote the screenplay and is producing the project with Mark Johnson (Rain Men, The Chronicles of Narnia).
Alex Belcher Scoring James D’Arcy’s ‘Made in Italy’
Alex Belcher (21 Bridges, IO, ) is scoring upcoming British/Italian comedy Made in Italy. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actor James D’Arcy and stars Liam Neeson, Micheál Richardson, Valeria Billello and Lindsay Duncan. The movie is set in Tuscany and centers on a bohemian London artist who returns to Italy with his estranged son to make a quick sale of the house they inherited from his late wife. D’Arcy also wrote the screenplay. Pippa Cross (The Hole, Desert Dancer) and Sam Tipper-Hale are producing the project.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘The Ranch’ to Be Released
Curb Records will release a soundtrack album for the the Netflix original series The Ranch. The album features a selection of songs from the show by artists such as Lee Brice, Wynonna, Filmore, Ruthie Collins, Love and Theft, Mallary Hope & others. Also included is the main titles song Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow up to Be Cowboys by Lukas Nelson & Shooter Jennings. The soundtrack will be released on January 24, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Ranch is created by Don Reo & Jim Patterson and stars Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliott, Danny Masterson, Debra Winger and Elisha Cuthbert.

Composer Ben Lovett (Synchronicity, The Wind, Black Rock, Don Peyote) is reuniting with director David Bruckner on the upcoming horror thriller The Night House. The film starring Rebecca Hall, Sarah Goldberg, Stacy Martin, Evan Jonigkeit and Vondie Curtis-Hall. The movie revolves around a widow who begins to uncover her recently deceased husband’s disturbing secrets. Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (Super Dark Times) wrote the screenplay. David Goyer (The Dark Knight, Blade) & Keith Levine are producing the project for their Phantom Four company, alongside John Zois.
