James Lavelle of the British music collective UNKLE is the composer of the new Netflix original series Turn Up Charlie. The show is created by Gary Reich and Idris Elba who also stars in the show alongside Piper Perabo, JJ Feild and Frankie Hervey. The dramedy centers on a down-and-out DJ who plots to rebuild his music career while working as a nanny for his famous best friend’s wild 11-year-old daughter. Elba & Reich are also executive producing the Brown Eyed Boy and Green Door Pictures production with Tristram Shapeero (Community, Blunt Talk) who also directed multiple episodes. Lavelle has previously scored last year’s Danny Boyle-produced FX series Trust, as well as numerous shorts and documentaries. Turn Up Charlie will premiere on March 15 exclusively on Netflix.
