Frederik Wiedmann has been tapped to score the upcoming new film adaptation of the video game Doom. The film is written and directed by Tony Giglio (Chaos, In Enemy Hands) and stars Louis Mandylor, Chidi Ajufo, Jemma Moore, Arkie Reece, James Weber Brown, Nina Bergman, Amy Manson, Clayton Adams, Amer Chadha Patel and Luke Allen-Gale. No plot details have been announced yet. The movie is produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, for which Wiedmann has previously scored numerous projects, including Jarhead 2: Field of Fire & Jarhead 3: The Siege, Tremors 5: Bloodlines & Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell and this year’s Death Race: Beyond Anarchy and The Scorpion King: Book of Souls (to be released later this month). Doom is currently in post-production and will be released in 2019.
Wiedmann (Hangman, Acts of Vengeance, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Field of Lost Shoes) also continues to score Netflix’s The Dragon Prince, which premiered last month and has just been renewed for a second season. He is also scoring Warner Bros. Animation’s next DC Universe Movie Reign of the Supermen, the follow-up to The Death of Superman, which the composer scored earlier this year. The movie directed by Sam Liu and starring Cameron Monaghan, Jerry O’Connell, Cress Williams, Patrick Fabian, Rebecca Romijn, Nathan Fillion, Rainn Wilson, Toks Olagundoye and Nyambi Nyambi will also be released next year.
