Theodore Shapiro and Ludwig Goransson are reteaming with director Rawson Marshall Thurber on the upcoming action comedy Central Intelligence. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Amy Ryan and Aaron Paul. The movie follows a former high school sports star-turned-accountant who is contacted by a classmate who was bullied and humiliated as a teen but is now a CIA contract killer and lures him into a world of espionage. Thurber has also written the screenplay with Ike Barenholtz & David Stassen (The Mindy Project). Scott Stuber (Role Models, Ted, Safe House) is producing the New Line Cinema production with Michael Fortell (Furious 7, Live Free or Die Hard) and Paul Young & Peter Principato (Married, Jessabelle). Shapiro and Goransson have previously co-scored Thurber’s 2013 comedy We’re the Millers and Shapiro has also composed the music for the director’s first two features, Dodgeball and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. Shapiro’s other upcoming projects also include Ben Stiller’s Zoolander 2 and the Ghostbusters reboot. His latest project, Trumbo, is currently playing in select theaters. Goransson has recently composed the music for Ryan Coogler’s Creed, which is opening in theaters nationwide next week.
