Oli Julian (Sex Education, Catastrophe, Code 404, How to Build a Girl, Episodes) is the composer of the new FX original series The Full Monty. The show is written by Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours) & Alice Nutter based on the 1997 feature (for which Anne Dudley won the Academy Award in the Best Original Musical or Comedy Score category) of the same title and stars Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Paul Barber, Lesley Sharp, Steve Huison, Wim Snape and Tom Wilkinson who reprise their roles from the movie, as well as Talitha Wing, Paul Clayton, Miles Jupp, Phillip Rhys Chaudhary, Sophie Stanton, Natalie Davies, Dominic Sharkey, Arnold Oceng, Aiden Cook and Tupele Dorgu. The comedy drama takes place 25 years after the events from the movie and follows the same band of brothers as they navigate the post-industrial city of Sheffield, and society’s crumbling healthcare, employment and education sectors. Beaufoy & Nutter are also executive producing the Searchlight Television and FX production with Uberto Pasolini (Nowhere Special, Still Life) and Lee Mason. The Full Monty will premiere in the U.S. next Wednesday on June 14 on Hulu and on Disney+.
Julian also continues to score Netflix’s Sex Education and FX/Sky’s Breeders, which both will return for their fourth seasons. He also recently co-scored Coky Giedroyc’s Greatest Days (with Nick Foster) based on the Take That musical The Band, which will open in UK theaters on June 16.
