Warner Music France has released a soundtrack album featuring the musician’s score last October when the movie opened in France. Opening in New York today before expanding to more markets over the next couple of weeks is the comedy Fantasy Life written and directed by Matthew Shear and starring Amanda Peet, Shear himself, Alessandro Nivola, Judd Hirsch, Bob Balaban, Andrea Martin, Zosia Mamet, Holland Taylor,Jessica Harper and Sheng Wang. Christopher Bear (of the rock band Grizzly Bear) (Roofman, Past Lives, High Maintenance, Mother, Couch, Swallowed, The Passenger) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. The film’s original music is composed by James William Blades (Mutt, Freediver). No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The movie, which follows a wealthy New York teenager eager to impress his activist crush who follows an online connection to Texas, where he’s convinced he can stop an act of extreme violence, premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and is being distributed by Picturehouse.
Also opening in select theaters today is the Canadian/New Zealand comedy drama Holy Days written and directed by Nat Boltt and starring Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes, Elijah Tamati and Jacki Weaver. Karl Sölve Steven (Come to Daddy, Uproar, Bookworm, The Justice of Bunny King, Pike River, The Girl on the Bridge, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a #@%!) has composed the film’s original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release .The movie, which is based on the novel by Dame Joy Cowley and follows three unconventional nun who embark on a last-ditch road trip across New Zealand from north to south on a journey to fight for their independence, premiered at this year’s Santa Barbara Film Festival and is being released in the U.S. by Blue Fox Entertainment.
Also opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the French thriller 13 Days, 13 Nights (13 jours, 13 nuits) co-written and directed by Martin Bourboulon and starring Roschdy Zem, Lyna Khoudri, Christophe Montenez and Sidse Babett Knudsen.
