Premiering on Tuesday, August 12, is the FX original series Alien: Earth created by Noah Hawley and starring Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Babou Ceesay, Samuel Blenkin, Adrian Edmondson, Essie Davis, David Rysdahl, Lily Newmark, Adarsh Gourav, Erana James, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Youn, Moe Bar-El, Diêm Camille and Sandra Yi Sencindiver. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Legion, Ripley, The Night Of, Zero Day, Untamed, For All Mankind) has composed the show’s original music. The sci-fi drama, which follows a hybrid prototype and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers as they make a fateful discovery when a mysterious deep space research vessel crash-lands on Earth that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat, will air every Tuesday on FX and will also be available to stream on Hulu.
Premiering on Wednesday, August 13 is the Prime Video original series Butterfly created by Ken Woodruff & Steph Cha based on BOOM! Studios’ graphic novel series by Arash Amel and starring Daniel Dae Kim, Reina Hardesty, Louis Landau, Piper Perabo, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, Kim Ji-hoon, Sean Dulake, Charles Parnell and Nayoon Kim. The show’s original music is composed by Curtis Green (Dug Days, Zootopia+) and Min He (Railway Heroes). Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score on Friday, August 15. Also premiering on Wednesday is the French Netflix original series Young Millionaires created by Igor Gotesman, Carine Prevot & Mahault Mollaret and starrinng Abraham Wapler, Sara Gançarski, Jeanne Boudier, Malou Khebizi, Calixte Broisin-Doutaz, Victor Bonnel, Florian Lesieur, Margot Heckmann, Alexis Rosenstiehl and Elma Urriaga. French singer/songwriter Léa Castel and Yoan Chirescu have composed the show’s original music. Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the score and songs from the teen dramedy this past Friday. Premiering on Friday, August 15 is the USA original series The Rainmaker developed by Michael Seitzman based on John Grisham’s novel and starring Milo Callaghan, John Slattery, Madison Iseman, Lana Parrilla, P.J. Byrne, Wade Briggs, Dan Fogler and Robyn Cara. The show’s original music is composed by Clinton Shorter (District 9, The Expanse, Code Black, 2 Guns, Contraband, Pompeii, Copshop, Boss Level, Colony). Nainita Desai (For Sama, Nautilus, The Deepest Breath, The Tower, Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, The Reason I Jump, The Wild Ones, Crossfire, Funny Woman) has composed the show’s original music. The 3-parter, which follows Hemsworth as he embarks on a new mission to unlock the secrets of living better, will be available to stream on Friday on Disney+ and Hulu and will also air on National Geographic on August 25.
