Guillaume Roussel (Black Beauty, 3 Days to KillLift, Expend4bles, The Spy, NovemberHappy!, The Man with the Iron Heart) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming French thriller 13 Days, 13 Nights. The film is directed by Martin Bourboulon (Eiffel, Daddy or Mommy) and stars Roschdy Zem, Lyna Khoudri, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Christophe Montenez. The movie is set against the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan of U.S. troops in August, 2021 as the Taliban march on Kabul and recounts the true story of French Commander Mohamed Bida and his elite police team who find themselves trapped alongside 500 civilians and devise a plan to evacuate the stranded masses and reach the airport. Bourboulon also co-wrote the screenplay with Alexandre Smia (A French Case) based on the book 13 Days, 13 Nights in the Hell of Kabul by Bida. Dimitri Rassam (The Count of Monte Cristo, Escobar: Paradise Lost) and Ardavan Safaee (Parthenope, Notre-Dame on Fire) are producing the project. Roussel has previously collaborated with Bourboulon on 2023’s 2-part The Three Musketeers movie. 13 Days, 13 Nights will be released in French theaters this year.

Roussel’s other recent projects include the second season of Marie Antoinette, which just premiere in France and will debut in the U.S. on March 23 on PBS. He also composed the music for the upcoming Apple TV+ original series Carême created by Ian Kelly (based on his book Cooking for Kings: The Life of Antonin Carême, the First Celebrity Che) & Davide Serino (The Bad Guy), directed by Bourboulon and starring Benjamin Voisin, Jérémie Renier, Lyna Khoudri and Alice Da Luz. The biographical drama tells the story of the world’s first celebrity chef, Antonin Carême, who rose from humble beginnings in Paris to the height of culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe. Vanessa van Zuylen (Up for Love) is executive producing the project for VVZ Production, alongside Dominique Farrugia (Vidocq, My Friends, My Love) for Banijay’s Shine Fiction.Carême will premiere on April 30 on Apple TV+.
