Perseverance Records has launched a new Kickstarter campaign for the world premiere recordings of two unreleased scores written by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, Apollo 13, Field of Dreams, Aliens, A Beautiful Mind, Legends of the Fall). The titles include Oliver Stone’s 1981 horror film The Hand starring Michael Caine & Andrea Marcovicci and Peter Yates’ 1983 drama The Dresser starring Albert Finney & Tom Courtenay. Among the key people involved in the project, which is supported and endorsed by the Horner Estate and the composer’s widow Sara, are orchestrator Nikiforos Chrysoloras, blaster beam inventor Craig Huxley, pianist Gloria Cheng and conductor, orchestrator & arranger Matt Dunkley. The music will be recorded at Smecky Studios with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra over a period of 4-5 days, under the supervision of Chrysoloras.
