Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Star Trek, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Batman, Jurassic World, The Incredibles) is attached to score the upcoming animated feature High in the Clouds. The film is directed by Toby Genkel (The Amazing Maurice, A Stork’s Journey) and will feature six original songs written by Paul McCartney who will also voice one of the main characters. The movie is based on McCartney’s children’s novel of the same title and follows the journey of a headstrong teenage squirrel who lives in a city where music has been banned by a diva-owl who wants to be the only singer in town and goes on a journey to bring music back to his town. Jon Croker (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, No One Gets Out Alive) wrote the screenplay for the Gaumont production. High in the Clouds will begin production in 2024 and is currently scheduled to be completed in early 2026. (Variety)
