Opening semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters is the survival drama On Fire directed by Nick Lyon & Peter Facinelli and starring Facinelli, Fiona Dourif, Ashlei Foushee, Asher Angel, Glenn Morshower and Lance Henriksen. Sacha Chaban (Collide, Redemption Day, Aftermath, Darkness Falls, Breaking & Entering, The Vanished) has composed the film’s original score. 1908 Scoring Studios has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening in a few hundred theaters is the comedic thriller The Kill Room directed by Nicol Paone and starring Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, Joe Manganiello, Debi Mazar, Dree Hemingway, Maya Hawke and Amy Keum. The film’s original music is composed by Jessica Rose Weiss (Cinderella, No Hard Feelings, Don’t Let Me Go, The Independent) & Jason Soudah (Followed, Braking for Whales). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows an art dealer who teams with a hitman and his boss for a money laundering scheme that accidentally turns the hitman into an overnight sensation, is being released by Shout! Studios.
Opening in select theaters today before premiering next Friday, October 6 on Netflix is the psychological thriller Fair Play written and directed by Chloe Domont and starring Phoebe Dynevor, Alden Ehrenreich, Eddie Marsan, Phoebe Dynevor, Rich Sommer and Sebastian de Souza. Brian McOmber (It Comes at Night, Krisha, Little Woods, Blow the Man Down, Ugly) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be released next week. Nathan Furst (Need for Speed, Act of Valor, Hidden Strike, 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been released. The movie, which follows a tech blogger who wields a time-altering device to seek revenge on a ruthless corporate empire, is being released by The Avenue.
