Jongnic Bontemps & Raashi Kulkarni have teamed up to compose the original score for the upcoming Disney+ original movie World’s Best. As previously reported, Ambudkar also wrote original songs for the project, alongside Charlie Wilder. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Jamie King. Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Fosse/Verdon) is producing the film with Kate Sullivan. Bontemps & Kulkarni have previously co-scored last year’s Netflix feature Wedding Season. World’s Best will premiere on June 23, 2023 exclusively on Disney+.
Bontemps (4400, My Name Is Pauli Murray, United Skates) also has Steven Caple Jr’s Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (to be released in theaters on June 9, 2023) coming up. He also recently scored 20th Digital Studios’ horror thriller Jagged Mind directed by Kelley Kali and starring Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Shannon Woodward. The movie, which revolves around a woman plagued by blackouts and strange visions that lead her to discover she’s stuck in a series of time loops, will premiere on June 15, 2023 on Hulu.
