Opening in theaters nationwide is the animated feature DC League of Super-Pets directed by Jared Stern and starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, John Krasinski, Natasha Lyonne, Kate McKinnon, Diego Luna, Vanessa Bayer and Keanu Reeves. The film’s original music is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Transformers,Deepwater HorizonEnder’s Game, Lone Survivor, The Island). Also opening wide is the comedic thriller Vengeance written and directed by B.J. Novak and starring Novak himself, Boyd Holbrook, Issa Rae, Dove Cameron, J. Smith-Cameron, Lio Tipton and Ashton Kutcher. Finneas O’Connell (The Fallout) has composed the film’s original music. Opening in select theaters today is the indie drama A Love Story written and directed by Max Walker-Silverman and starring Dale Dickey and Wes Studi. The film’s original music is composed by Ramzi Bashour. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which revolves around a lone traveler biding her time fishing, birding and stargazing at a rural Colorado campground as she awaits the arrival of a figure from her past, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed by Bleecker Street.

Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Prime Video next Friday, August 5, is the drama Thirteen Lives directed by Ron Howard and starring Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Thiraphat Sajakul, Weir Sukollawat, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Tom Bateman and Paul Gleeson. Benjamin Wallfisch (ItShazam!, The Invisible WomanHidden FiguresBlade Runner 2049) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next week. Also opening in select theaters today before coming out on VOD on August 5 is the psychological thriller Resurrection written and directed by Andrew Semans and starring Rebecca Hall, Tim Roth, Michael Esper, Grace Kaufman and Angela Wong Carbone. The film’s original music is composed by Jim Williams (TitaneRaw,  PossessorBeast,A Field in England, Sightseers). Opening in select U.S. theaters today is the British drama Ali & Ava written and directed by Clio Barnard and starring Claire Rushbrook and Adeel Akhtar. Harry Escott (Roadkill, ShameHard Candy, The English Game, Welcome to the Punch) has composed the film’s original music. Cognitive Shift has released the cover version of the ballad Grace performed by Karan Casey & Escott as featured in the movie earlier this year when the film opened in the UK.
