Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the family comedy Clifford the Big Red Dog directed by Walt Becker and starring Jack Whitehall, Darby Camp, Tony Hale, Sienna Guillory, David Alan Grier, Russell Wong and John Cleese. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the ChristElfThe Jungle Book, Iron Man 2Hocus Pocus). Paramount Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details). Epic Records has released the original song Room for You performed by Madison Beer last week (click here to listen to the track). The movie opened in theaters on Wednesday and is also available to stream on Paramount+.

Opening semi-wide in around 600 theaters is the drama Belfast written and directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds and Jude Hill. Van Morrison has composed the film’s original music, including a few score cues and the original song Down to Joy. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. The movie, which tells the story of a boy’s childhood, amid the music and social tumult of the late 1960s, premiered at this year’s Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals and is being released by Focus Features.

Opening in New York and Los Angeles is the documentary Julia directed by Julie Cohen & Betsy West about legendary cookbook author and television superstar who changed the way Americans think about food, television, and even about women. The film’s original music is composed by Rachel Portman (The Cider House Rules, Emma, Chocolat, The Manchurian CandidateNever Let Me GoThe Legend of Bagger Vance). No word yet on a soundtrack release. Also opening in select theaters exclusively is the romantic drama Love Is Love Is Love co-written and directed by Eleanor Coppola and starring Rosanna Arquette, Marshall Bell,  Kathy Baker, Maya Kazan, Chris Messina, Cybill Shepherd, Joanne Whalley and Rita Wilson. Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, What If…?, Set It UpUndergroundWhy We HateStep) who previously scored Coppola’s Paris Can Wait has composed the film’s original score. She also co-wrote the original song Because Love with Wilson (who is also performing the track). Sing It Loud Records has released the song today. Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix next Friday, November 19 is the movie musical tick, tick… Boom! directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda and starring Andrew Garfield, Alexandra Shipp, Vanessa Hudgens, Robin de Jesús, Joshua Henry, Bradley Whitford, Tariq Trotter and Judith Light. The film’s songs and score are composed by Jonathan Larson (Rent). Alex Lacamoire, Bill Sherman and Kurt Crowley serve as the project’s executive music producers. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie today.
