Tamar-kali (Mudbound, Come Sunday) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble. The film is directed by Dawn Porter (Trapped, Gideon’s Army) and focuses on the life and career of Rep. John Lewis. John Lewis: Good Trouble will be released in select theaters on May 1, 2020 by Magnolia Pictures.
Tamar-kali’s other recent projects include Dee Rees’ The Last Thing He Wanted, which just premiered on Netflix this past Friday, Kitty Green’s The Assistant, which is currently playing in select theaters, as well as Josephine Decker’s Shirley, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Neon for a theatrical release later this year.
