Composer Nathan Furst is reteaming with director Scott Waugh on the upcoming action thriller Project X-Traction. The film starring Jackie Chan and John Cena follows a retired Chinese military man and now private security contractor who is sent to rescue workers from a Chinese-run oil refinery under attack.When he learns that the attackers’ real plan is to steal a fortune in oil, he teams up with an American to stop them. Arash Amel (A Private War, Grace of Monaco) wrote the screenplay. Chan is also producing the project for his Sparkle Roll Media production company, alongside Joe Tam, Esmond Ren (Skiptrace) and Hans Canosa (Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac). Furst has previously scored all of Waugh’s previous three features, Act of Valor, Need for Speed and 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain. Project X-Traction is currently in post-production. No release date has been announced yet.
