Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Disenchantment. The show is created by Matt Groening (The Simpsons, Futurama) and features the voices of Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon, Eric Andre, John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding and Lucy Montgomery. The animated comedy follows the misadventures of a hard-drinking princess, her feisty elf companion and her personal demon. Groening is also executive producing the ULULU Company production with Josh Weinstein. Disenchantment will premiere on August 17, 2018 on Netflix.
Mothersbaugh’s other recent projects include the animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, which is currently playing in theaters nationwide. The composer also has The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part coming up.
I’m disenchanted Alf Clausen, fired from “The Simpsons”, didn’t get this.
I’d have figured Christopher Tyng for the job, but I’m sure Mothersbaugh will do great.
