Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed that Mark Mothersbaugh will return as the composer for the upcoming animated sequel The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell (Shrek Ever After, Trolls, Sky High) and features the voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Arturo Castro. Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21/22 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) who helmed the 2014 original movie wrote the screenplay with Adam Pava (The Boxtrolls) and Michael Fogel. They are also producing the project with Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes, The Lego Batman Movie) and Roy Lee (It, The Lake House). In addition to scoring the first LEGO Movie, Mothersbaugh has also composed the music for last year’s The Lego Ninjago Movie. The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is set to be released February 8, 2019.
