Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe have announced the winners in the Show Us Your Musical Genius competition. Top prize winners of the musical challenge are invited to a Hans Zimmer or Lorne Balfe recording session in London or Los Angeles. Pipe Dream is amazing! A well-deserved win! The ending was sad though. It breaks my heart when I see scenes like that.

    • Sylvia says:

      Well deserved! Congratulations!

    • Rich says:

I agree. Its brilliant. But this is a piece of film. how is it a composition entry? I wanted to hear MUSIC.

Again – I acknowledge its brilliant story telling – but the music was a device here. It wasn’t a piece of art in its own right. It deserves plaudits, but this is not a winner.

      • Nadin says:

I understand your point, Rich. Yes, if you close your eyes and listen only music, probably you will not hear anything special. But remember, it was not a competiton of the concert music. It was a competition of the film music. In this case music serves the picture. And I am happy that collaboration and efforts of this amazing team was not neglected by Jury. When I want to listen only music I would play masterpieces of Mahler, Beethoven, Tchaykovskiy, etc.

  2. Nadin says:

I am highly impressed by Pipe Dream work. Such a deep sensitivity and vision. There is an amazing example of power that visual and music arts collaboration can bring together. So emotionally, so sincerely… You guys are really genius! Congratulations!
