Last night, the film music of 1985 was celebrated at the concert Back in Time…1985 LIVE! at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. The concert was produced by Varese Sarabande and performed by the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO). Special guests included composers David Shire who conducted his score for Return to Oz, Bruce Broughton who conducted his Academy Award-nominated music from Silverado, Cliff Eidelman who conducted George Delerue’s score for Agnes of God, Jeff Beal who conducted a piece from John Corigliano’s music from Revolution and Christopher Lennertz who conducted music from Michael Kamen’s score for Brazil. To coincide with the concert and the 30th anniversary of many classic film scores from the 1985, Varese Sarabande has released a 6-CD set, which is available to order on the label’s official website.
