Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for two 80s comedies from Paramount Pictures, including 1985’s Summer Rental directed by Carl Reiner (The Man With Two Brains) and starring John Candy, Richard Crenna and Rip Thorn, as well as 1987’s Critical Condition directed by Michael Apted (The World Is Noe Enough, Nell) and starring Richard Pryor. Both scores are written and conducted by Academy Award-nominated composer Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, The Avengers, Cast Away). The label has also announced a remastered reissue featuring two long out-of-print western comedy scores composed by Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West). The release features the composer’s music for the 1975 film The Genius (Un genio, due compari, un pollo), as well as his score for 1972’s Sonny & Jed (La Banda J. & S. – Cronaca Criminale del Far West).
