Rachel Portman is scoring the upcoming biographical drama Diana. The film is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall, The Experiment) and stars Naomi Watts in the title role alongside Naveen Andrews who portrays the heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan. The film centers on the last two years of Princess Diana’s life and the secret love affair she had shortly before her tragic death. Douglas Hodge, Geraldine James, Charles Edwards and Juliet Stevenson are co-starring. Stephen Jeffreys (The Libertine) wrote the screenplay and Robert Bernstein & Douglas Rae (Becoming Jane, The Water Horse, Nowhere Boy) are producing the project for Ecosse Films. Diana has recently been picked up by Entertainment One for domestic distribution. The film is set to be released towards the end of the year.
Portman’s other upcoming projects also include Diablo Cody’s Paradise, Ama Asante’s Belle and Uberto Pasolini’s Still Life.
