Evgueni and Sacha Galperine are the composers of the upcoming crime comedy Malavita. The film is directed by Luc Besson and stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D’Leo. The movie follows a retired mafia boss who moves to a small town in France’s Normandy with his wife and daughter as part of the witness protection program. Besson has also written the screenplay based on Tonino Benacquista’s novel Badfellas and is producting the film with his wife Virginie Besson-Silla (The Lady, Revolver) for EuropaCorp, along with Ryan Kavanaugh & Tucker Tooley (The Fighter, Limitless) for Relativity Media. Martin Scorsese has recently joined the project as an executive producer. Evgueni and Sacha Galperine have previously scored the French fantasy drama Eva and EuropaCorp’s 2010 drama The Big Picture. They also contributed music to last year’s The Hunger Games. Besson has previously collaborated with composer Eric Serra on most of his directorial efforts, including Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element and La Femme Nikita. Malavita is currently in post-production and is set to be released in the US on October 18, 2013 by Relativity Media.
