Joe Kraemer is currently recording his orchestral score for the upcoming thriller Jack Reacher. The film is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and stars Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Werner Herzog, David Oyelowo and Robert Duvall. The movie is based on the novel One Shot written Lee Child and follows the military policeman-turned-drifter Jack Reacher, who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper accused of killing five random people in a shooting. Cruise is also producing the Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions film with Paula Wagner (The Last Samurai, Mission: Impossible), Don Granger (Snakes on a Plane) and Gary Levinsohn (Saving Private Ryan). Kraemer has previously scored McQuarrie’s directorial feature The Way of the Gun. McQuarrie’s credits as a screenwriter include The Usual Suspects, for which he received an Academy Award and Bryan Singer’s Valkyrie. Jack Reacher is set for a release on December 21, 2012.
