A couple of new video game soundtracks composed by some prominent film and TV composers have recently been announced. Coming out next week is the second volume for John Debney’s music for The Sims Medieval. The soundtrack features eight new score tracks by the composer and will be released on June 7 by Electronic Arts Recordings. To download the album, visit Amazon and check out the audio clips below. The first volume has been released in April and is also available to download on Amazon. The Sims Medieval is based on The Sims 3 Engine and is set in medieval times. The game allows the player to build a kingdom through quest-driven gameplay. The project marks Debney’s second score for a major video game title after his critically acclaimed music for 2007’s Lair.
Making his video game scoring debut is composer Brian Reitzell (30 Days of Night, Friday Night Lights) with the music for Red Faction: Armageddon. The soundtrack has been released by Sumthing Else Music Works and is available as physical and digital release on Amazon. Red Faction: Armageddon is the fourth installment in the Red Faction series developed by Voliton, Inc. and published by THQ. The third-person action video game will be released on June 7, 2011.
Finally, a soundtrack album for the video game inFamous 2 has also been released earlier this week. inFamous 2: The Blue Soundtrack features selections of the score by Jim Dooley (Pushing Daisies, Obsessed) among other tracks and is available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. A second volume (inFamous 2: The Red Soundtrack) is expected to be released later this summer. inFamous 2 is an open world video game for Playstation 3 developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The sequel to the 2009 game inFamous will be released on June 7.
