Varese Sarabande announced their latest CD club releases this morning. The latest batch includes four new albums, which can all be ordered on the Varese webpage.
One of the most requested titles in soundtrack history finally receives a CD release. To coincide with the 25th anniversary of the movie, Dave Grusin’s score for The Goonies directed by Richard Donner and produced by Steven Spielberg is limited to 5000 copies. The Spiral Road is another early Jerry Goldsmith classic that gets a CD premiere. The score to the 1962 adventure movie starring Rock Hudson and directed by Robert Mulligan (To Kill A Mockingbird) is limited to 3000 copies and audio clips can be found right here.
Bill Conti, who has received a lot of attention of the label gets another score album for his scores for The Scout and Dreamers. The Scout is a 1994 baseball comedy starring Brendan Fraser and Dreamer is a 1979 bowling movie. Both scores have been previously unreleased.
