Gabriel Yared (The Talented Mr. Ripley, The English Patient, Cold Mountain, Judy, 1408, Betty Blue) has recently scored the upcoming French drama Just The Two Of Us (L’amour et les forêts). The film is directed by Valérie Donzelli (Marguerite & Julien, Notre Dame) and stars Virginie Efira, Melvil Poupaud, Romane Bohringer, Dominique Reymond and Virginie Ledoyen. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Eric Reinhardt and revolves around a woman caught up in a toxic relationship with a possessive man. Donzelli also co-wrote the screenplay with Audrey Diwan (Happening, Losing It). Edouard Weil (Climax, Vortex) and Alice Girard (Nocturama, Aline) are producing the project. Just the Two of Us will premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival before opening in French theaters on May 24.

Yared’s other recent projects include Pietro Marcello’s Scarlet, which opened in French theaters in early 2023 and has been picked up by Kino Lorber for a domestic release later this year.
