Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the slasher movie Scream directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and starring Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Mikey Madison, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar, as well as Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & FuriousAvengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Crazy Rich Asians, Yellowstone, Now You See Me, Thor: The Dark World). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Also opening wide this week is the Japanese animated feature Belle directed by Mamoru Hosoda and starring Paul Castro Jr.,  Jessica DiCicco, Chace Crawford, Brandon Engman, Manny Jacinto, Hunter Schafer and Cristina Vee Valenzuela. Taisei IwasakiLudvig Forssell (Death Stranding) and Yuta Bandoh (It Comes), among others, have composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released two soundtrack album featuring the songs (in Japanese and English) and score from the movie. Opening in select theaters and VOD today is the indie drama Italian Studies written and directed by Adam Leon and starring Vanessa Kirby, Simon Brickner, Annika Wahlsten and Annabel Hoffman. The film’s original music is composed by Nicholas Britell (Succession, MoonlightIf Beale Street Could Talk, Don’t Look Up, The Big ShortVice, The Underground Railroad). No word on a soundtrack release. Jimenez. The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill HouseDoctor Sleep, Midnight Mass, The Forever PurgeLife of CrimeThe Walking Dead: World Beyond) have composed the film’s original music. Opening exclusively in select theaters today is the documentary Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America directed by Emily Kunstler & Sarah Kunstler. The film’s original music is composed by Kathryn Bostic (Clemency, Dear White People, Women of the Movement, Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am, Holiday Rush). The movie, which follows criminal defense and civil rights lawyer Jeffery Robinson as he draws a timeline of anti-Black racism in the United States, from slavery to the modern myth of a post-racial America, premiered at last year’s SXSW Film Festival and is being distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.

Opening in select U.S. theaters today and on VOD today is the French historical comedy Delicious (Délicieux) co-written and directed by Éric Besnard and starring Grégory Gadebois, Isabelle Carré, Benjamin Lavernhe and Guillaume de Tonquédec. Christophe Julien (Nothing to Hide, Bye Morons, See You Up ThereBye 9-Month Stretch) has composed the film’s original music. Opening in select U.S. theaters today is Brazilian sci-fi thriller The Pink Cloud (A Nuvem Rosa) written and directed by Iuli Gerbase and starring Renata de Lélis, Eduardo Mendonça, Helena Becker, Kaya Rodrigues and Girley Paes. The film’s original music is composed by Caio Amon. EROICA música has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last year following its premiere at the (virtual) Sundance Film Festival.
