Mateo Messina (Juno, Blockers, Butter, Barely Lethal) has signed on to score the upcoming Netflix original movie Tall Girl. The film is directed by Nzingha Stewart and stars Ava Michelle, Griffin Gluck, Luke Eisner, Sabrina Carpenter, Paris Berelc, Anjelika Washington, Steve Zahn, Angela Kinsey, Clara Wilsey and Rico Paris. The comedy centers on a six-foot-tall girl as she tries to make her way through high school feeling like an outcast. Sam Wolfson wrote the screenplay. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator Salvation), Mary Viola (The Duff, I Feel Pretty, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) & Corey Marsh are producing the project for Wonderland. Messina has previously collaborated with Stewart on the 2015 Lifetime movie With This Ring starring Regina Hall. Tall Girl is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year on Netflix.
Messina also continues to score NBC’s Superstore, which currently airs in its fourth season every Thursday night and has already been renewed for a fifth season.
