La-La Land Records has announced the first-ever release of the unused score for Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 classic war drama Apocalypse Now starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Sam Bottoms, Larry Fishburne and Dennis Hopper. The music is composed by David Shire (The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Zodiac, Return to Oz). The soundtrack is limited to 2000 copies and will be available to order on the label’s website next week. Visit the label’s official Facebook page for the full album details. The label’s other new releases also include a 50th Anniversary expanded soundtrack for the 1967 comedy Doctor Dolittle featuring a newly restored and remastered presentation of the score and songs from the movie composed by Leslie Bricusse (Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory).
