It was announced this evening at Comic-Con that Bear McCreary is scoring the upcoming NBC drama Constantine. The show is developed by Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist, Dexter) & David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Rises) and stars Matt Ryan, Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford. The drama is based on the comic book series Hellblazer from DC Comics and follows seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine who is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. Cerone and Goyer are also producing the project for Bonanza Productions and Warner Bros. Television. McCreary has previously collaborated with Goyer on the Starz original series Da Vinci’s Demons. Neil Marshall (The Descent, Centurion) has directed the pilot episode. Constantine is set to premiere on October 24, 2014 and will air every Friday night on NBC. McCreary also continues to score Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., AMC’s The Walking Dead, Starz’s Da Vinci’s Demons and Black Sails. Also coming up for the composer is the sci-fi comedy Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie and the Starz original series Outlander, which is set to premiere on August 2. The composer’s upcoming projects also include the action thriller Everly. The film is directed by Joe Lynch and stars Salma Hayek as a down-on-her-luck woman who is forced to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss, while trying to save her estranged mother and daughter. Togo Igawa, Masashi Fujimoto and Hiroyuki Watanabe are co-starring in the film produced by Adam Ripp & Rob Paris (Gambit, Dirty Girl), Luke Rivett and Andrew Pfeffer. McCreary has previously scored Lynch’s Knights of Badassdom and Wrong Turn: Dead End. Everly is expected to premiere later this year.

This guy is one of the busiest composers I have ever seen! And yet, he juggles these projects with ease.
