burying-the-exJoseph LoDuca has been hired to score the upcoming horror comedy Burying the Ex. The film is directed by Joe Dante and stars Anton Yelchin, Ashley Greene, Alexandra Daddario and Oliver Cooper. The movie follows a normal guy whose controlling girlfriend suddenly dies in a freak accident and rises from the grave to haunt him. Alan Trezza has written the screenplay. The comedy is produced by Image Entertainment, Scooty Woop Entertainment and Act 4 Entertainment production. Voltage Pictures’ Nicholas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Dallas Buyers Club) is executive producing the project with Cassian Elwes (Lee Daniels’ The Butler), Zev Foreman and Dominic Rustam. Dante has previously collaborated with Jerry Goldsmith on most of his features, including Gremlins, ExplorersInnerspace and Small Soldiers. His last movie, The Hole, featured a score by Javier Navarrete. LoDuca is best known for his scores for Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movies, as well as the  TV shows Hercules: The Legendary JourneysXena: Warrior PrincessSpartacus and LeverageBurying the Ex is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.
