Jim Dooley revealed at the film composer panel Behind the Music: Composing for WonderCon’s Favorite Projects at the WonderCon 2012 earlier this month that he will be scoring the upcoming TV drama Hannibal. The series is created and executive produced by Bryan Fuller who previously worked with the composer on the critically acclaimed show Pushing Daisies, for which Dooley has received an Emmy Award. The Hannibal TV show is based on the iconic literary and film character Hannnibal Lector created by Thomas Harris and centers on the character’s budding relationship with FBI agent Will Graham. Hugh Dancy has been cast as Graham who was played by Edward Norton in 2002’s Red Dragon. No word yet on who will portray the title character. Martha De Laurentiis who produced the film versions of Hannibal, Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising is an executive producer on the project. Dooley has previously been involved as an additional music arranger on the Hans Zimmer-scored feature Hannibal directed by Ridley Scott. NBC has picked up domestic rights for Hannibal and the first season of 13 episodes are expected to air this fall on the network.

Dooley is also scoring the new NBC comedy Best Friends Forever. The show is created by Jessica St. Clair (Bridesmaids) and Lennon Parham (Accidentally on Purpose) who are also starring in the series alongside Luka Jones, Stephen Schneider, Daija Owens. The series follows a woman whose husband files for divorce, which leads her to seek comfort and to fly across the country to move back in with her best friend. St. Clair and Parham are also executive producing the show with Scot Armstrong (The Hangover Part II), Alexa Junge (Friends), Ravi Nandan and Fred Savage (Party Down). Best Friends Forever‘s first season of six episodes is set to premiere on April 4, 2012 on NBC. Check out the comedy’s pilot below and visit the official show website for updates on the show.

Dooley’s most recent video game project is Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. The sequel to the 2010 game, which was also scored by the composer, is expected to be released this fall for Wii, Playstation 3 and XBox 360.
