Two new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

The comic book adaptation Captain America:The First Avenger directed by Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Stanley Tucci and Dominic Cooper features music by Alan Silvestri. A soundtrack album including the composer’s score has been released on Buena Vista Records. Check out our soundtrack announcement for more information and audio clips. Also featured on the album is the song Star Spangled Man (music by Alan Menken and lyrics by David Zippel). Also opening wide is the comedy Friends with Benefits directed by Will Gluck and starring Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, Woody Harrelson, Patricia Clarkson, Richard Jenkins, Emma Stone, Jenna Elfman and Andy Samberg. Opening in limited release is the indie sci-fi drama Another Earth directed by Mark Cahill and stars Brit Marling as an ambitious MIT astrophysics student who kills a man’s family in a car accident after leaning out of the window to catch sight of a newly discovered planet. The film’s music is written by Fall On Your Sword and a soundtrack album has been released this past Tuesday on Milan Records. Also opening in select cities is the indie comedy drama A Little Help directed by Michael J. Weithorn and starring Jenna Fischer, Chris O’Donnell and Rob Benedict. The movie’s score is composed by Austin Wintory who also co-wrote one of the film’s songs. Jakob Dylan has also written several songs for the project. A soundtrack album featuring selections from the score, as well as the songs from the movie has been released on Columbia Records. The final limited release of the week is the drama Sarah’s Key directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and starring Kristin Scott Thomas. The film’s music is written by Max Richter.
