Audio clips from all tracks of the soundtrack album for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel have surfaced. As previously reported, WaterTower Music will release a regular and a deluxe edition featuring the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer. The regular edition featuring 18 tracks on 2 CDs is now available for pre-order on Amazon and a limited deluxe edition featuring additional tracks plus access to behind-the-scenes footage can be pre-ordered here. ‘Man of Steel’ Soundtrack Update
More details for the soundtrack albums for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel have been revealed. As previously reported, two different albums featuring the film’s music composed by Hans Zimmer will be released. Both the regular and and deluxe edition are 2-disc sets and feature the 28 minute long track Man of Steel (Hans Original Sketchbook), which is performed solely by Zimmer and allows listeners to experience his initial experiments with the film’s music, which ultimately lay the foundation for the film’s final score. The deluxe edition will be housed in embossed steel case and allows users to access multiple videos showing a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the music. WaterTower Music also released more details about the score, for which a drum orchestra was brought that features such musicians as John JR Robinson, Jason Bonham, Josh Freese, Pharrell Williams, Danny Carey, Satnam Ramgotra, Toss Panos, Jim Keltner, Curt Bisquera, Trevor Lawrence Jr., Matt Chamberlain, Ryeland Allison, Bernie Dresel, Vinnie Colaiuta and Sheila E.

World Premiere Release of Tyler Bates’ ‘Dawn of the Dead’ Score Announced
The details of the world premiere official soundtrack release for Zack Snyder’s remake of the zombie horror film Dawn of the Dead have been revealed. The album includes the film’s original score by composer Tyler Bates (300, Watchmen). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 16, 2012 by Milan Records. The physical release is scheduled to come out the following week and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article soon. Dawn of the Dead starring stars Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames and Jake Weber marked the directorial feature debut of Snyder (Man of Steel). The hit remake of the George A. Romeo classic was released in theaters in 2004 and is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
Hans Zimmer to Score ‘Man of Steel’
Hans Zimmer has signed on to score Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel. The film stars Henry Cavill in the title role, alongside Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent and Diane Lane as Martha Kent. Christopher Meloni, Laurence Fishburne and Michael Shannon are also starring. David Goyer (Batman Begins, Blade) has written the screenplay. Christopher Nolan who has worked with Zimmer on Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception and the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises is producing the DC Entertainment production with Emma Thomas, Charles Roven (Three Kings, Twelve Monkeys) and Deborah Snyder (Watchmen). Snyder has previously collaborated with composer Tyler Bates on his previous features, including Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Dawn of the Dead and 300.
Hans Zimmer not involved in Superman
The Hollywood Reporter had a chance to talk to composer Hans Zimmer about his involvement in the upcoming Superman adaptation directed by Zack Snyder, which was reported last week by NBC San Diego as reported here. The news spread last week after Zimmer did some interviews at the DVD/Blu-Ray release party for Incpetion, which according to the composer had been taken out of context. Zimmer says that at this point he has not talked with Superman‘s director Zack Snyder and is not involved in any way in the new adaptation of the comic book franchise. This, of course, doesn’t mean that he won’t be asked to score the movie, especially given his relationship with producer Christopher Nolan, but he refers to the assignment of scoring the movie and following the footsteps of John Williams as “a thankless task”, implying some hesitation in taking on scoring duties on the movie.
