Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2008 drama Adam Resurrected. The album features the film’s original music composed and orchestrated by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, City of Angels, The Lives of Others) who recorded his score at Abbey Road Studios in London. Adam Resurrected is directed by Paul Schrader (American Gigolo, Auto Focus) and stars Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe and Derek Jacobi. The movie takes place in the aftermath of World War II and follows a former circus entertainer who was spared from the gas chamber as he becomes the ringleader at an asylum for Holocaust survivors.

Frederik Wiedmann to Score Paul Schrader’s ‘Dying of the Light’
Frederik Wiedmann is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Dying of the Light. The film is written and directed by Paul Schrader and stars Nicolas Cage, Anton Yelchin and Irene Jacob. The movie follows a former CIA agent embarking on a global manhunt for his long-standing nemesis, while simultaneously battling an aggressive form of Alzheimer’s Disease. Todd Williams, Scott Clayton and Gary Hirsch are producing the Over Under Media and Red Granite Pictures production. Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Only God Forgives) and Steve Schwartz (The Road, The Counselor) are executive producing the project.
‘The Canyons’ Soundtrack Announced
SQE Music will release a soundtrack album for Paul Schrader’s upcoming indie drama The Canyons. The album features the film’s original music composed by Broken Social scene member Brendan Canning w/ Me&John. Also included are the songs Love, French, Better by Gold Zebra, Fear by A Place to Bury Strangers and Coming Down by Dum Dum Girls. Brendan Canning to Score Paul Schrader’s ‘The Canyons’
According to The Playlist, Broken Social Scene member Brendan Canning will be scoring the upcoming indie drama The Canyons. The contemporary L.A. noir film is directed by Paul Schrader and written by Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho, The Rules of Attraction). The movie stars James Deen, Lindsay Lohan, Nolan Funk and Amanda Brook and explores the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition among a group of young people in their 20’s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their live. Braxton Pope (Shrink) is producing the project. Schrader’s previous musical collaborators on his directorial efforts include Girogio Moroder (Cat People, American Gigolo), Angelo Badalamenti (Auto Focus, Forever Mine) and Gabriel Yared (Adam Resurrected).
