Void Recordings will release a soundtrack for the supernatural thriller Dark Skies. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joseph Bishara (Insidious, The Conjuring). The soundtrack will be released on June 4, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, digitally, on CD and on Vinyl. Check out audio clips after the jump. Dark Skies is written and directed by Scott Stewart and stars Keri Russell, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Goyo, Kadan Rockett and J.K. Simmons. Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Sinister) produced the film about a family that is being targeted by a terrifying and deadly force. The movie opened in theaters this past February by Dimension Films and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on May 28.

Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the action thriller Snitch directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring Dwayne Johnson, Susan Sarandon, Jon Bernthal, Benjamin Bratt and Barry Pepper. The film’s music is composed by Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, Senna). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s digitally earlier this week. Joseph Bishara to Score ‘Dark Skies’
Joseph Bishara has signed on to score the upcoming supernatural thriller Dark Skies. The film is written and directed by Scott Stewart and stars Keri Russell, Josh Hamilton, Dakota Goyd and J.K. Simmons. The movie’s plot involves an alien disguised as a human and a boy tagged for abduction. Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity) is producing through his Blumhouse Productions company. Alliance Films is also producing. Bishara has previously scored the Blum-produced horror hit film Insidious. Stewart’s previous two films featured music by Christopher Young (Priest) and John Frizzell (Legion). Dark Skies is set to be released on February 22, 2013 by Dimension Films.
’11-11-11′ Soundtrack Details

The film follows a famed American author who travels from the United States to Barcelona, Spain to reunite with his estranged brother and dying father and starts to become plagued with strange happenings, and the constant sightings of the number 11.
Joseph Bishara to Score ‘The Warren Files’
Joseph Bishara has signed on to score the supernatural horror thriller The Warren Files. The film reunites the composer with director James Wan (Saw). They previously worked together on last year’s hit horror film Insidious. The Warren Files stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as a husband and wife team of demonologists and psychic investigators who enter the most horrifying case of their career, spirits in a Rhode Island farmhouse. Ron Livingston, Lily Taylor, Hayley McFarland, Shanley Canwell are co-starring in the thriller. Chad and Carey Hayes (House of Wax, The Reaping) have written the screenplay and Rob Cowan (The Crazies, The Shipping News), Tony DeRosa-Grund (Josie and the Pussycats) and Peter Safran (Buried) are producing the New Line Cinema film.
‘Insidious’ Soundtrack Announced
Void Recordings will be releasing a soundtrack album for this spring’s horror hit film Insidious. The soundtrack includes 26 tracks from the score by composer Joseph Bishara. The album will be released digitally on October 11, 2011 and will be available on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks of the score after the jump. Insidious directed by James Wan and starring Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson and Barbara Hershey tells the story about a family haunted by vengeful spirits. The movie was released in theaters last April and is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
Joseph Bishara Scoring ’11-11-11′
Joseph Bishara is scoring the upcoming horror thriller 11-11-11. The movie is written and directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III & IV). The film starring Michael Landes, Wendy Glenn and Timothy is inspired by the real-life organization that believes the recurrence of the numbers 11:11 are of spiritual significance and a link to spirit guardians. The story deals with 11 gates of Heaven and how the final gate will open for 49 minutes on November 11th, 2011. Bishara has previously collaborated with the director on the 2008 horror musical Repo! The Genetic Opera. The composer had his biggest box office success of his career to date earlier this year with the horror hit Insidious starring Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson.
Weekly Film Music Roundup (April 1, 2011)
Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Duncan Jones’ Source Code starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga features music by Chris Bacon. A soundtrack including Bacon’s original score has been released by Lakeshore Records as reported here. The album is now available to order on Amazon and can be downloaded at Amazon and iTunes. Bacon has been giving a number of interviews about his latest project. Check out Scorenotes, Film Music Media and Filmmuziek.be for audio interviews with the composer.
Also opening wide is Tim Hill’s Hop starring Russell Brand as the voice of the Easter Bunny, as well as James Marsden, Elizabeth Perkins, Kaley Cuoco and Hugh Laurie. The film’s music is by composer Christopher Lennertz. As reported last week, a soundtrack with Lennertz’ score will be released by Varese Sarabande on April 19.
