Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1995 documentary The Celluloid Closet directed by Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman about Hollywood’s depiction of gays and lesbians on the silver screen from the silent era of the 1920’s to the present day. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, The Banshees of Inisherin, Fargo, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Blind Side, Twilight,Anomalisa). Also included is k.d. lang’s cover of Secret Love, as well as songs performed by Marilyn Mornoe, Doris Day, Marlene Dietrich, Roberta Flack, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas and Jane Russell. The soundtrack, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 30th Anniversary, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio clips and learn more about the release. Stephen Trask to Score ‘Lovelace’
Stephen Trask has been hired to score the upcoming biopic Lovelace. The movie starring Amanda Seyfried as adult film star Linda Lovelace is told through the production of Deep Throat, her abusive relationship with Chuck Traynor and eventual spearheading of the feminist anti-pornography movement. Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Wes Bentley, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, James Franco, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts, Chloë Sevigny, Sharon Stone and Juno Temple are co-starring in the film directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman.
