Jeff Cardoni Scoring HBO Max’s ‘Ten Year Old Tom’
Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Heels, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Turner & Hooch, The Kominsky Method) is the composer of the new HBO Max adult animated series Ten Year Old Tom. The show is created and written by Steve Dildarian (The Life & Times of Tim) who also lends his voice to the title character. Also starring are Byron Bowers, Todd Glass, Gillian Jacobs, Edi Patterson and John Malkovich, as well as David Duchovny, Jennifer Coolidge, Natasha Lyonne, Tim Robinson, Mark Proksch & George Wallace who are making guest appearances. The animated comedy follows the misadventures of an average kid as he contends with questionable guidance from the well-meaning grownups around him.
Natalie Holt to Score Adil El Arbi’s & Bilall Fallah’s ‘Batgirl’
Natalie Holt (Loki, Journey’s End, Herself, Knightfall, Beecham House, Press) has announced that she is set to compose the music for the upcoming HBO Max original movie Batgirl. The film is directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for Life) and stars Leslie Grace in title role of Barbara Gordon. J. K. Simmons is attached to star as Commissioner James Gordon. No plot details have been announced yet. Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Bumblebee) wrote the screenplay based on the DC characters. Kristin Burr (Cruella, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) is producing the Warner Bros. Pictures production.
‘Mr. Soul!’ Soundtrack Album Released
Hillman Grand Records & Def Jam Recordings have released a soundtrack album for the documentary Mr. Soul! The album features the original end title song Show Me Your Soul performed by Lalah Hathaway & the film’s composer Robert Glasper (Miles Ahead, The Photograph) and co-written by Hathaway, Glasper, Muhammad Ayers and director Melissa Haizlip. The track was shortlisted in the Original Song category at this year’s Academy Awards. Also included are other songs from and inspired by the movie by artists such as Donny Hathway, Kool and the Gang, The Delfonics, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Patti Labelle and the Bluebelle & others. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music stores.
‘Laetitia’ Soundtrack Album Released
MSA Records has released a soundtrack album for the French limited series Laetitia. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Raf Keunen (Bullhead, Racer and the Jailbird, The Spy, Over Water, Just a Sigh). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music stores. Laetitia is co-written and directed by Academy Award winner Jean-Xavier de Lestrade (The Staircase) and stars Marie Colomb, Sophie Breyer, Yannick Choirat, Sam Karmann, Kevin Azïas and Noam Morgensztern. The 6-part drama chronicles the disappearance of a teenage girl in western France – and how a single act of violence impacted an entire country.
Devonté Hynes to Score HBO Max’s ‘Rap Sh*t’
Deadline is reporting that Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, We Are Who We Are, Palo Alto, Mainstream, In Treatment) has signed on to score the upcoming HBO Max original series Rap Sh*t. The show is created by Issa Rae (Insecure) and stars Aida Osman, KaMillion, Jonica Booth, Devon Terrell and RJ Cyler. The comedy follows two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group.
Cliff Martinez Scoring Steven Soderbergh’s ‘KIMI’
Composer Cliff Martinez (Drive, Game Night, The Neon Demon, The Lincoln Lawyer, Arbitrage) is reuniting with director Steven Soderbergh on the upcoming thriller KIMI. The film ‘s cast includes Zoë Kravitz, Byron Bowers, Jaime Camil, Jacob Vargas, Erika Christensen and Derek DelGaudio. No plot details have been announced yet. David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Premium Rush, Secret Window) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the New Line Cinema production with Michael Polaire (Mulholland Dr., Behind The Candelabra).

The show is created by Gary Janetti (Will & Grace) who also stars as the fictionalized Prince George, alongside Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Alan Cumming as George’s butler Owen, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, Frances de la Tour as Queen Elizabeth, Condola Rashad at Meghan Markle, Dan Stevens as Prince Charles, Iwan Rheon as Prince William and Sophie Turner as Princess Charlotte. The animated comedy centers on the imagined inner workings of the royal family through the eyes of the youngest heir to the throne.
HBO Max’s ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot to Feature Music by Ariel Rechtshaid
Record producer/songwriter Ariel Rechtshaid is making his television scoring debut on HBO Max’s Gossip Girl reboot. The show is developed by Joshua Safran and stars Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Zion Moreno, Evan Mock, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith. Rob Lowry serves as the music supervisor of the series, which centers on new generation of New York private school teens as they are being introduced to social surveillance nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark.
