Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1961 western The Last Sunset directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Rock Hudson, Kirk Douglas, Dorothy Malone, Carol Lynley and Joseph Cotten. The album, which is being released as part of the Universal Pictures Classics Collection, features the film’s original music composed by Ernest Gold (Exodus, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Too Much, Too Soon, On the Beach). Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere CD release of two scores composed by Academy Award nominee Ernest Gold (Exodus, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, On the Beach, Too Much, Too Soon). The Ernest Gold Collection – Volume 2 features the composer’s score from the 1988 NBC miniseries Gore Vidal’s Lincoln directed by Lamont Johnson and starring Sam Waterston, Mary Tyler Moore, Richard Mulligan, John Houseman & Tim Guinee, as well as his music from the 1980 western Tom Horn directed by William Wiard and starring Steve McQueen, Linda Evans and Richard Farnsworth. ‘Wallenberg: A Hero’s Story’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1985 NBC movie Wallenberg: A Hero’s Story directed by Lamont Johnson and starring Richard Chamberlain, Alice Krige, Kenneth Colley, Stuart Wilson, Melanie Mayron, Bibi Andersson, David Robb and Mark Rylance. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Ernest Gold (Exodus, On the Beach, It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Cross of Iron, Judgement at Nuremberg). ‘Used Cars’ Soundtrack Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1980 comedy Used Cars directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Kurt Russell, Gerrit Graham, Frank McRae, Deborah Harmon and Jack Warden. The album features the film’s original score composed by Patrick Williams, along with the title song Used Cars penned by the composer and performed by Bobby Bare. The CD also features the unused score composed by Ernest Gold (It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World). The soundtrack will be released on July 31, 2012. The label and Creature Feature will also be holding a soundtrack celebration, which includes a screening of the film and a live panel with composer Williams, writer Bob Gale (Back to the Future) and Deborah Harmon who are all scheduled to attend. Straw Dogs score released
Intrada Records announced today the world premiere release of Jerry Fielding’s score for Straw Dogs. The movie from 1971 directed by Sam Peckinpah (The Wild Bunch) stars Dustin Hoffman. In the movie, a young American and his English wife come to rural England and face increasingly vicious local harassment.
