Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Senna, Lord of War, Amy, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) has composed the original music for the new Netflix original film Awake. The movie is directed by Mark Raso (Kodachrome, Copenhagen) and stars Gina Rodriguez, Ariana Greenblatt, Frances Fisher, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Barry Pepper, Shamier Anderson,Finn Jones, Lucius Hoyos and Gil Bellows. The sci-fi thriller takes place after a global event wipes out humanity’s ability to sleep and follows a troubled ex-soldier as she fights to save her family as society and her mind spiral into chaos.

Reinhold Heil & Johnny Klimek to Reunite with Tom Tykwer on ‘Cloud Atlas’
Reinhold Heil, Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer have recently written and recorded music for the director’s upcoming sci-fi feature Cloud Atlas. The movie written and co-directed by Andy & Lana Wachowski and Tykwer stars Tom Hanks, Jim Sturgess, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Keith David, Ben Whishaw and Jim Broadbent. The film based on the novel by David Mitchell intertwines six stories spanning different times that sees one character shaped from a murderer to a savior. Stefan Arndt (Run Lola Run) and Philip Lee are producing with Tykwer and the Wachowskis. Heil and Klimek have been collaborating with Tykwer on the music for most of the director’s previous features, most recently on the Clive Owen- and Naomi Watts-starring thriller The International and the German language film 3.
Brian Reitzell to Score Starz’s ‘Boss’
Brian Reitzell has signed on to score the Starz series Boss. The show stars Kelsey Grammer as the Mayor of Chicago who is diagnosed with a degenerative mental condition that only he and his doctor know about. Kathleen Robinson, Martin Donovan, Jeff Hephner, Connie Nielsen and Hannah Ware are co-starring. The project is created by Farhad Safinia (co-writer of Mel Gibson’s Apocalypto). Gus Van Sant (Milk, Good Will Hunting) directed the show’s pilot. Grammer, Safinia and Grammer are producing with Richard Levine & Lyn Greene (Nip/Tuck), as well as Brian Sher and Stella Stolper. Apart from scoring the show, Reitzell will also serve as the music supervisor on the project.
