Intrada Records has announced the release of the label’s new Kickstarter-funded recording of the score for the 1969 spy thriller The Chairman directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Gregory Peck, Anne Heywood, Arthur Hill, Conrad Yama and Alan Dobie. The film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, The Mummy, Patton, Planet of the Apes, Basic Instinct) was newly recorded with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under the baton of William T. Stromberg for the project. Also included is a suite of previously unreleased Goldsmith compositions, including the end title track to Rambo II, Alex’s Death from Under Fire, the film version of The Flag from Not Without My Daughter, Homer Writes from Lilies of the Field, as well as the demo the composer wrote for David Anspaugh’s 2005 feature The Game of Their Lives.
