Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning & Fallout, His Dark Materials, Black Widow, The Wheel of Time, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Adam, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F ) has teamed up with Andrew Kawczynski (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The Corrupted, Sky Hunter) to score the upcoming action comedy Novocaine. The film is directed by Dan Berk & Robert Olsen (Villains, Significant Others) and stars Jack Quaid, Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Matt Walsh, Betty Gabriel, Lou Beatty Jr., Conrad Kemp, Van Hengst and Jacob Batalon. The movie follows an everyman whose dream girls gets kidnapped and turns his inability to feel pain into an unexpected strength in his fight to get her back.

Joseph Stephens (Observe and Report, Eastbound & Down, The Righteous Gemstones, Vice Principals, Upload, Flower) has composed the original score for the new Netflix original series Running Point. The show is created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen (Central Intelligence, The Oath) and stars Kate Hudson, Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Justin Theroux, Scott MacArthur, Chet Hanks, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman and Max Greenfield. The comedy follows a reformed party girl who must prove herself as a businesswoman when she’s unexpectedly put in charge of the pro basketball team of her family.

‘Wicked’, ‘A Complete Unknown’ & ‘I Saw the TV Glow’ Honored at Guild of Music Supervisors Awards
The 15th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards were handed out tonight at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Maggie Rodford received the top honor in the Best Music Supervision in Major Budget Films for her work on Jon M. Chu’s Wicked. Steven Gizicki received the award in the Mid-Level Budget Films category for his music supervision on James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown and Jessica Berndt & Chris Swanson were honored in the Low Budget Films category for their music supervision on Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow.
Christopher Tyng Scoring NBC’s ‘Suits LA’
Christopher Tyng (Futurama, The O.C., Covert Affairs, Kazaam, Rescue Me) is returning to score the new NBC drama Suits LA. The show is created by Aaron Korsh and stars Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt and Bryan Greenberg. The spinoff of USA’s original Suits series, which ran between 2011 and 2019, follows a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles and – in order to survive – must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.
