Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the drama Burnt directed by John Wells and starring Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Omar Sy, Daniel Brühl, Matthew Rhys, Uma Thurman, Emma Thompson, Alicia Vikander and Lily James. The film’s original music is composed by Rob Simonsen ((500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now, The Age of Adaline, Foxcatcher). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie follows a chef in Paris who is trying to obtain the Michelin three-star rating. The drama is being released by the Weinstein Company. Visit the official movie website for more information.

Also opening wide is the political comedy drama Our Brand Is Crisis directed by David Gordon Green and starring Sandra Bullock, Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Joaquim de Almeida, Ann Dowd, Scoot McNairy and Zoe Kazan. David Wingo (Take Shelter, Mud, All the Real Girls) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Alexis & Sam to Score ‘Equity’

Alexis & Sam have signed on to score the upcoming wall street drama Equity. The film is directed by Meera Menon and stars Anna Gunn, James Purefoy, Carrie Preston, Sarah Megan Thomas and Alysia Reiner. The movie centers on a female investment banker who is threatened by a financial scandal and must untangle a web of corruption, forcing her to re-examine the rules of the cutthroat world she has always loved. ‘Rocky’ Spinoff ‘Creed’ to Feature Original Songs by Ludwig Goransson, Ryan Coogler, Vince Staples, Donald Glover & More

Warner Bros. Pictures is submitting two original songs from the upcoming sports drama Creed for Oscar consideration. The first track, Waiting for My Moment, is written by the film’s composer Ludwig Goransson (Community, Fruitvale Station, New Girl, We’re the Millers), the movie’s director Ryan Coogler, rapper Vince Staples, and Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino. ‘The 33’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for the drama The 33 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, Apollo 13). Also included are two songs by Cote de Pablo and Los Bunkers. The soundtrack will be released on November 6, 2015 by WaterTower Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The 33 is directed by Patricia Riggen and stars Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips, Bob Gunton and Gabriel Byrne. The movie tells the true story of the 2010 mining disaster in Chile, where 33 miners had been buried alive by the catastrophic explosion and collapse of a 100-year-old gold and copper mine. NBC’s ‘Chicago Med’ to Feature Music by Atli Orvarsson

Atli Orvarsson is scoring the new NBC drama Chicago Med. The show is created by Michael Brandt & Derek Haas (Wanted, 3:10 to Yuma) and stars Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell, Torrey DeVitto and Rachel DiPillo. The series marks the third entry in the Chicago franchise following Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D., which Orvarsson is also scoring, and centers on the day-to-day chaos of the city’s newest state-of-the-art trauma center and the lives of its doctors, nurses and staff. Nathaniel Mechaly Scoring ‘Shut In’

Nathaniel Mechaly is composing the music for the upcoming psychological thriller Shut In. The film is directed by Farren Blackburn (Hammer of the Gods) and stars Naomi Watts, Oliver Platt, Charlie Heaton, David Cubitt and Jacob Tremblay. The movie follows a widowed child psychologist who lives in isolation in rural New England and must find a way to rescue a young boy caught in a deadly winter storm. Christina Hodson has written the Blacklist-honored screenplay for the EuropaCorp and Lava Bear Films production. Paul Englishby to Score Netflix’s ‘The Crown’

Paul Englishby has been hired to score the upcoming Netflix original series The Crown. The show is created by Peter Morgan (The Queen, Rush, Frost/Nixon) and stars Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II, Matt Smith as Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret and John Lithgow as Winston Churchill. The 10-parter is based on Morgan’s play The Audience and centers on the interplay and political intrigue between Queen Elizabeth II and the British prime ministers spanning several decades. Morgan is also executive producing the Sony Pictures TV and Left Bank Pictures production with Stephen Daldry (The Hours, The Reader), Philip Martin (The Forger), Andy Harries (The Damned United), Suzanne Mackie (Calendar Girls, Pinky Boots), Tanya Seghatchian (My Summer of Love), Robert Fox (Notes on a Scandal, Iris) and Matthew Byam Shaw. ‘Empire’ Season 2 – Volume 1 Soundtrack Details

Columbia Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Fox hit drama Empire. The album features more songs from the show by cast members including Terrence Howard (Lucious Lyon), Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) and Bryshere Gray a.k.a. Yazz (Hakeem Lyon), as well as Timbaland, Pitbull, Sereyah, Bre-Z & more. The Season 2 – Volume 1 soundtrack will be released on November 20, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the first season. Soundtrack for BBC’s ‘The Hunt’ Announced

Sony Music has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC natural history documentary The Hunt. The album features the series’ original music composed by Academy Award winner Steven Price (Gravity, Fury, The World’s End, Attack the Block) performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra under conductor, Geoffrey Alexander. The soundtrack will be released overseas on November 13, 2015 and is now available as an import on Amazon. The Hunt is executive produced by Alastair Fothergill (Blue Planet, Frozen Earth, Planet Earth), produced by Huw Cordey (Planet Earth, South Pacific) and centers on the relationship between predators and their prey. ‘Truth’ Soundtrack Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for the political drama Truth have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Furious 7, Iron Man 3, Now You See Me, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles, Thor: The Dark World). Truth is directed by James Vanderbilt and stars Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, Topher Grace, Elisabeth Moss, Dennis Quaid.
