Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2004 historical epic Troy directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom, Diane Kruger, Brian Cox, Sean Bean, Brendan Gleeson and Peter O’Toole. The album features the expanded score from the Warner Bros. Pictures production composed and conducted by James Horner (TitanicAvatarBraveheartA Beautiful Mind), including over half an hour of previously unreleased music. Also included is the original song Remember performed by Josh Groban with Tanja Tzarovska. Duncan Thum has been hired to score the upcoming period drama The Iron Orchard. The film is directed by Ty Roberts and stars Lane Garrison, Austin Nichols, Ali Cobrin, Timothy Lee DePriest, Lew Temple, Allan McLeod, Temple Baker and Rooster McConaughey. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Tom Pendleton and tells the story of an unsophisticated and unskilled young man thrust into the brutal West Texas oilfields circa 1939, who ultimately becomes a formidable wildcatter. Gerry de Leon (Opening Night) wrote the screenplay. John Ottman and David Buckley are scoring the new Fox drama The Gifted. The show is developed by Matt Nix (APB, Burn Notice) based on Marvel’s X-Men properties and stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind and Percy Hynes White. The series tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects) has directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the 20th Century Fox and Marvel Television production with Nix, Lauren Shuler Donner (DeadpoolLogan), Simon Kinberg (The MartianLogan), Jeph Loeb & Jim Chory (Daredevil, Jessica JonesLegion). The full details of the soundtrack album for Todd Haynes’ Wonderstruck have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (CarolFargo, TwilightIn BrugesTrue Grit). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on October 20, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Wonderstruck is directed by Haynes and  stars Julianne Moore, Oakes Fegley, Michelle Williams and Millicent Simmonds. Jones, Natalia Tena, Monica Potter and Blake Lee. The series follows a visionary tech innovator who creates a cutting-edge crowdsourcing app to solve his daughter’s murder, and revolutionize crime solving in the process. The music production house Bleeding Fingers Music has taken over scoring duties on the Fox animated series The SimpsonsHans Zimmer and Russell Emanuel serve as score producers and Steven Kofsky is credited as the score executive producer. The composers are replacing Alf Clausen who has scored most of the episodes of the previous 28 seasons of the series. Danny Elfman’s main titles theme for the show is still being used. Opening in most theaters is the action thriller American Made directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones and Jayma Mays. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (FrozenAnt-ManEdge of Tomorrow). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Linda Ronstadt, The Allman Brothers, Walter Murphy & more.
