Ali Shaheed Muhammad & Adrian Younge (Luke Cage, Run This Town) have composed the original score for the upcoming coming-of-age drama Boogie. The film marks the feature directorial debut of writer, producer and restaurateur Eddie Huang (Fresh Off the Boat) and stars Taylor Takahashi, Taylour Paige, Pamelyn Chee, Mike Moh, Alexa Mareka, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Perry Yung, as well as Pop Smoke who is also contributing music to the project. The movie tells the story of a basketball phenom living in Queens, New York, who dreams of one day playing in the NBA and must find a way to navigate a new girlfriend, high school, on-court rivals and the burden of expectation. Big Branch Music has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Landfall. The album features the film’s original music composed by Angélica Negrón (The Condemned, Memories of a Penitent Heart). Composer Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, 1917, Skyfall) is reuniting with director John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, Proof) on the upcoming war drama Operation Mincemeat. The film starring Colin Firth, Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn & Jason Isaacs is based on the book of the same name by Ben Macintyre and takes place in 1943 when the Allies are determined to launch an all-out assault on Fortress Europe. The movie follows two intelligence officers as they concoct a disinformation strategy, aimed at preventing their massive invasion force from being massacred by German soldiers and planes when they touch down on the continent. The film is directed by Peter Flinth (Arn: The Knight Templar, Nobel’s Last Wil) and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Joe Cole, Charles Dance and Heida Reed. The movie based on the Danish novel Two Against the Ice by Ejnar Mikkelsen is set in the early 1900s and centers on Denmark’s Alabama Expedition, led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen who was attempting to disprove the United States’ claim to North Eastern Greenland. Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2003 drama Cold Mountain directed by Anthony Minghella and starring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Renée Zellweger, Brendan Gleeson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Eileen Atkins, Jack White, Giovanni Ribisi, Donald Sutherland and Ray Winstone. The 2-CD set features the expanded and remastered score from the Miramax production composed by Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Judy, The Life Ahead, Betty Blue, City of Angels) who received an Academy Award nomination for his music. The first disc includes the composer’s score in chronological order and the second disc features the original Academy Awards promo album, including variations, unused tracks and alternates.
