Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album for the French Netflix limited series Under a Dark Sun (Soleil Noir). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Bogue (Mortel, À boire, Cabeza Madre). Under a Dark Sun is created by Nils-Antoine Sambuc and stars Isabelle Adjani, Ava Baya, Louise Coldefy, Guillaume Gouix, Thibault de Montalembert, Claire Romain and Simon Ehrlacher. Two Rivers Media has released has released a soundtrack album for the documentary The Last Musician of Auschwitz. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jessica Dannheisser (Daddy Issues, Whitstable Pearl, Knuckle, Silverpoint, A Kind of Spark), as well as pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Robert Schumann, among others, arranged by Dannheisser. Also included is musicologist Petra Gelbart’s performance of There Is a Large Building in Auschwitz, as well as the rendition of the Jewish Deathsong (a reworking of a traditional Yiddish folk song, devised by Berlin choirmaster Martin Rosebury D’Arguto) that ends the film. Polydor Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1984 mockumentary/comedy This Is Spinal Tap co-written and directed by Rob Reiner and starring trio Christopher Guest, Michael McKean & Harry Shearer as the members of the fictional rock band Spinal Tap. The album features the band’s songs from the movie, newly remastered by Bernie Grundman from the soundtrack’s original stereo analog master tapes, and will be released on September 5. The album features the film’s original music composed by Deng Ouge (Endgame) who previously scored the original 2018 movie. Waxwork Records has announced a soundtrack release for the animated short Bullet Time. The 5-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Danny Elfman (Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, BeetlejuiceEdward Scissorhands, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Men in BlackAlice in Wonderland). The soundtrack is being released as a deluxe 7″ vinyl EP and on cassette and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also find out more about the release. Bullet Time is written and directed by Eddie Alcazar and stars Eric Bauza, Luis Bordanada, David Firth and Uly. Alan Bergman passed away last night at age 99 at his home in Los Angeles. Together with his late wife Marilyn, the songwriter/lyricist wrote dozens of songs for film and television and won three Academy Awards for the songs The Windmills of Your Mind from Norman Jewison’s The Thomas Crown Affair, The Way We Were from Sydney Pollack’s movie of the same title, as well as the (song) score from 1983’s Yentl. His 16 Oscar nominations also include songs from Tootsie, Sydney Pollack’s Sabrina, Yes, Giorgio, Shirley ValentineBest Friends, The Happy Ending, The Life and Times of Judge Roy BeanSame Time, Next Year and The Promise. Interscope Records & The Null Corporation will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi sequel TRON: Ares. The album features the film’s original music composed by the Grammy Award-winning rock band Nine Inch Nails. The release marks the first-ever film score by the pioneering band, although bandmates Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have previously scored numerous projects, including The Social Network, Soul, Challengers & Watchmen. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 19 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD and vinyl edition is also being released on the same day and will be available to order here within the next few days.
